Terms of sale

Last updated [7 November 2026]

The short version

  • You must be 18 or over to order.
  • You can cancel free until you approve your proof, or until 24 hours after we send it, when it's approved automatically. After that it's made just for you, so it can't be cancelled. Your rights if anything arrives faulty are not affected.
  • If anything arrives damaged, faulty or not as you approved it, we'll remake it or refund you. This doesn't affect your legal rights.
  • One Pen Pages: you can cancel for any reason within 14 days of the day your order arrives, and send the books back unused for a refund.

Who you're buying from

Happily Drawn is the trading name of [Company name: added on 2 Nov], registered in [England and Wales: confirmed on 2 Nov], company number [Company number: added on 2 Nov]. Registered office: [Registered office: added on 2 Nov]. Email hello@happilydrawn.com. Full details are on our company details page.

These terms apply to every order. Please read them with our privacy notice, which explains what we do with your photos.

Who can order, and where we deliver

You must be 18 or over to order. Our gifts are for adults to buy for others or for themselves.

We deliver to the UK, the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. You can order from anywhere, as long as it’s going to an address in one of those countries.

  • Illinois. We can’t make photo gifts of people who live in Illinois yet, so we can’t send photo gifts to Illinois addresses. For a US order you confirm: “No one in these photos lives in Illinois.”
  • Quebec. We can’t deliver to Quebec yet.

What we make, and how we use AI

Everything we make is made just for you, from the photos and words you send.

  • Colouring book and printable pages. AI draws the lines; a person checks every page.

Previews are made by AI too: “This is your free preview. You approve it, or ask for changes, before we make anything.” AI can get things wrong, for example by smoothing a birthmark or changing a hairline. That’s why you see a proof before we make your order.

Your photos and permission

Before you upload photos, you confirm:

  • “I'm 18 or over. I'm the person pictured, their parent or guardian, or I have their permission to use these photos. They'll be used only to make my order.”
  • If your order is going to the US: “I'm 18 or over. I'm the person pictured, their parent or guardian, or I have their written permission to use these photos. They'll be used only to make my order.” A text or email from a parent is fine.

Please use your own snapshots. School and studio photos may need the photographer’s permission. We don’t draw famous characters, team badges or brand logos.

We may refuse or cancel an order, with a full refund, if we think the photos are being used without permission or the order breaks these rules. Anyone pictured, or a child’s parent or guardian, can ask us to stop and delete their photos at hello@happilydrawn.com.

Prices and paying

Prices are shown in your own currency. Our prices include delivery. We’re not registered for VAT or sales tax yet, so there’s nothing to add at checkout, and no customs to pay when it arrives.

You pay by card through Stripe when you place your order. By paying, you agree to these terms. We email you to confirm your order, with what you asked for, so you can check it.

Proofs and approving them

  • Books. After you order, we draw the rest of your pages and email you a proof of every page. You can swap or redraw any page before we print it. If you don’t approve or ask for changes, your proof is approved automatically 24 hours after we send it.
  • Printable pages are sent as soon as you approve them.

Cancelling

Printed colouring books. You can cancel free until you approve your proof, or until 24 hours after we send it, when it's approved automatically. After that it's made just for you, so it can't be cancelled. Your rights if anything arrives faulty are not affected.

Printable pages. These are digital, so the law gives you 14 days to cancel unless you ask for them straight away. At checkout you tick: “Please send my printable pages as soon as I approve them. I understand that once they're sent, I lose my 14-day right to cancel them.”

These rules are the same wherever you live. To cancel, email hello@happilydrawn.com with your order number.

One Pen Pages: your 14 days to change your mind

One Pen Pages by Happily Drawn are the same book for everyone, not made from your photos, so you can cancel for any reason within 14 days of the day your order arrives (the day the last book arrives, if they come separately). You can also cancel before it arrives.

To cancel, email hello@happilydrawn.com with your order number, or send us the form below. Then post the books back to us, unused, within 14 days of telling us. Return postage is yours to pay, unless something is faulty.

We refund everything you paid, including the delivery, within 14 days of getting the books back (or proof that you’ve posted them). If a book has been coloured in or handled more than you’d need to look at it in a shop, we may take off what it has lost in value.

Separately, within 30 days, if anything is wrong with the book, we replace or refund it, even if you’ve started, and you don’t pay for anything. Your legal rights aren’t affected. For all ages from 8. The spiral binding isn’t meant for small children.

Cancellation form. Fill this in and send it to us only if you want to cancel:

To Happily Drawn, [Company name: added on 2 Nov], [Registered office: added on 2 Nov], hello@happilydrawn.com:

I/We hereby give notice that I/We cancel my/our contract of sale of the following goods: [the titles]. Ordered on [date] / received on [date]. Name of consumer(s). Address of consumer(s). Signature of consumer(s) (only if this form is sent on paper). Date.

Delivery

Before you pay, we show the date your order will arrive by. We work it out from each printer’s longest published delivery time, plus time for your proof and our check, plus a margin. Our delivery page has the times and the Christmas dates for each country.

If your order is running late, we’ll tell you before that date, give you a new date, and let you choose: wait for it, have the printable pages now for free (for books), or cancel for a full refund. If you cancel, we refund you within 7 working days.

If something's wrong

If it’s not right, we’ll make it right. If anything arrives damaged, faulty or not as you approved it, send us a photo within 30 days of delivery and we'll remake it free or refund you, whichever you prefer. You don't need to send it back. This doesn't affect your legal rights, which still apply after 30 days.

Anyone who owns the gift can tell us, including the person you gave it to. Our remakes and refunds page sets out how to claim, our UK guarantee, our US warranty and our warranty against defects in Australia.

Your legal rights

  • UK: what we send must be of satisfactory quality and as described. You have legal rights if it isn’t, and they still apply after 30 days. Nothing in these terms affects them.
  • New Zealand: nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act.
  • Australia: our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (see our warranty against defects).
  • US and Canada: you keep every right the law where you live gives you.

Complaints, and the law that applies

If you’re unhappy, please tell us first at hello@happilydrawn.com. A real person reads every message and will do their best to put it right.

These terms are governed by the law of [England and Wales: confirmed on 2 Nov]. If you live elsewhere, you keep the protection of the consumer laws where you live, and you can bring a claim in your local courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The terms that apply to your order are the ones on this page when you placed it.
