How we make our pages
Every page starts with one of your photos. Here’s what AI does, what a person does, and what you’re seeing on our site and in our adverts.
AI draws. A person checks.
We use AI to draw your photos as pages. Google’s image tools turn each photo into clean black lines.
A computer is quick with lines, but it has never met your family. So a person checks every page beside its photo before anything is printed. You see your first pages free, and nothing is made until you approve your proof.
The photos and families in our examples
The example photos on our site, marked “Example”, and in our adverts are made with AI. So are the people and pets in them. They aren’t customers. Joan, Ken, Maisie and Pickle Hartley, from our films, are a made-up family.
The pages beside those photos are real. Our tools drew them the same way they’ll draw yours, and we haven’t retouched them.
Pictures of our books
Some pictures of our books are made with AI too. We build them from the real print file, so the size, cover, paper, binding and pages match the book you’ll get. When our first printed copies arrive, we’ll check every picture against them.
Your photos stay private
We never sell your photos or use them in adverts. Only the services that make your order see them, such as Google’s AI and the printer. Google may keep a copy for up to 55 days to check for misuse, then deletes it. We delete your photos 7 days after your preview if you don’t order, and 30 days after delivery if you do.
