How it works

  1. The colouring book, closed, on a kitchen table beside its opened cardboard mailer and a mug of tea: a green cover with a gold double frame, the title The Hartleys and the words A colouring book. The cover of One Pen Pages: The Christmas kitchen

    1. Choose a book

From your photos, or a One Pen Pages title.

  2. A hand colouring the dotted shapes of a page with a dark pen

    2. Drawn, then checked

We draw it, and a person checks every page before it’s printed.

  3. A One Pen Pages book open on a table at home, part coloured

    3. Printed near you, posted

Tracked, with the date it arrives by shown before you pay.

Will it look like them?

Drag across each photo to see the page our tools drew from it. Nothing retouched.

Example photo: a fox-red Labrador's nose fills the bottom of a Christmas family photo, with an older man, a woman and a man in paper crowns on the sofa behind him in front of the tree.
The colouring page our tools drew from that photo: the dog's nose filling the front of the picture, with the three grown-ups in paper crowns on the sofa behind him and the tree, in black outline, ready to colour.
Example

The dog. Pickle’s nose, in front of everyone else.

Questions

More help

What photos work best?

Close-ups taken in daylight, where faces fill a good part of the frame. The daft ones work too: Grandad asleep, the dog’s nose, the baby mid-yawn. Very dark, blurry or crowded photos make busier pages.

Can I see my book before I pay?

Yes. We draw 3 pages from your own photos, free, with no card and no account. After you order, we draw the rest and email them for you to check. You have 24 hours to swap a photo or ask for a redraw; if we don’t hear from you, we take it as a yes.

When will it arrive?

Before you pay, we show the date it arrives by in your country, with tracked delivery included. Books are printed near you, and we email the tracking link when yours is posted. Christmas dates for every country are on our delivery page. Delivery dates.

Is it all right to use photos of children?

Yes, if you’re their parent or guardian or have their permission. How we keep your photos safe.

What if I don’t like a page?

Before you order, swap the photo for another. After you order, you see every page before it’s printed, and can swap the photo or ask for a redraw. If anything arrives damaged, faulty or not as you approved it, our promise covers it.

I can’t draw. Will I manage?

Yes. There’s no drawing at all: you colour each shape that has a dot and leave the rest white, and the picture comes through as you go.

Coming next

  • The storybook

    A storybook starring them.

    Opens on Saturday 14 November

  • The mini-me figure

    A little figure of them.

    Opens on Saturday 21 November

  • The song

A song with their name in it.

    Opens on Thursday 26 November

  • Themed colouring books

    We’re working on them now.

  • New One Pen Pages titles

More scenes, as they’re drawn and checked.

Which photo would you start with?

  • Example photo: a grey-haired woman photographed from knee height, trying not to laugh, her ringed hand lunging towards the lens, a lit lamp behind her.
  • Example photo: a teenager's palm, blurred and blown out by the flash, pushed over the lens in a kitchen at night, a grey hoodie cuff at the bottom.
  • Example photo: a man in a hand-knitted Christmas-pudding jumper, photographed so close that his head is cut off, beside a Christmas tree and torn wrapping paper.
  • Example photo: a grey-muzzled fox-red Labrador fast asleep on his back across a brown sofa, legs in the air, half under a crocheted blanket, in grey daylight.
  • Example photo: someone in a red apron and striped oven gloves holds up a burnt, cracked Christmas pudding topped with holly, beside a white gas cooker in a home kitchen.
  • Example photo: a wet fox-red Labrador mid-shake on the doormat by the back door at night, ears flying out, water drops lit by the flash and muddy paw prints on the floor.

Probably the one nobody’s allowed to delete. See it drawn as a page, free, before you decide.
